7980 Visits Quexpo 9th & 10th July 2011
Due to work commitments we arrived on the Saturday evening where we enjoyed a lovely bbq with friends. After watching Bill's 1940's searchlight unit in action we set up bed for the night on 7980 this being the first time we'd camped on the Willowbrook. Compared with the ECW body on 5137, the Willowbrook has a slightly smaller space between the rear wheel arches which caused a bit of a problem at first, this was soon overcome though and a fine (if lumpy) bed was made out of the seat cushions. Sunday dawned very bright and again we had breakfast with some nearby friends in their caravan (thanks Carol and Paul!) before getting washed and dressed and tucking 7980 into our 'collection' a bit more next to the searchlight and near Carol and Paul's milkfloats. We went into the ring just before 4pm on our own and I was interviewed about the bus. The day was wrapped up by cooking a very tasty curry in 7980's luggage rack on our gas rings.

This first one shows Bill's wartime searchlight in operation with some shots of the funfair and 7980 with the inverter lights on inside.
The second is a general wander around the showground looking at the exhibits.
